RED SHIRTS EVERYWHERE!

WOW! What a night! We came, we were seen (can you say RED?)... and we were HEARD! Although there is not much anyone can do or say at this juncture, we let the mayor and commissioners know at the September 14th Commissioner's Meeting, how passionate we feel about our neighborhood and the distaste we have with the prospect of a developer coming into town and destroying our community.

We also made our point on the obvious issues of traffic, noise, strain on the infrastructure and just plain aesthetics. Speakers made it perfectly clear, on numerous occasions, that we are NOT against the project itself but, in fact, only against the proposed location.

Commission Meeting Announcement

We still have a long road ahead of us but we certainly let the city and developer know that he is in for one hell of a fight. At Mayor Resnick's request, City Manager Gallegos took the floor to point out that there are several hoops that the developer needs to jump through before any approval would be in place. He also said that we would have an opportunity to attend the upcoming meetings to voice our opposition. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that we will be there... and they are right.

Be sure to plan on attending our regular meeting this Thursday at Independence Hall for a full update on the weeks activities and further plans of action.
